Abstract

|
Frozen shoulder is characterized by a painful, gradual loss of both active and passive glonohumeral motion resulting from progressive fibrosis. Classically frozen shoulder is divided into three phases: freezing, frozen, and thawing phase. Treatment is based on this stage of disease. Non-operative options including anti-inflammatory medication, corticosteroid injection, arthrographic distention, manipulation, suprasapular nerve block, and physical therapy including modalities and exercise.
